Nevis man Buys Local Exchange; To Extend Lines

J. G. Bartholomew Steps Out After Long Service. Began with 65 Phones

A business deal of interest to many people in Bagley was closed last week when J. G. Bartholomew disposed of his local telephone exchange. The new owner is A. L. Bohnsack who comes from Nevis where he is also interested in telephone matters. After completing the deal Mr. Bohnsack went to Nevis with expectations of returning to Bagley with his family late this week and upon his return will give personal attention to his newly acquired business. It is understood Mr. Bohnsack plans an early extension of the lines and has other improvements in mind. No real estate was included in the deal and the consideration has not been given out.

Mr. Bartholomew began his career as a telephone magnate in Bagley ten and a half years ago. At that time the exchange numbered 65 phones. Today there are 312 with three hundred miles of wire. He has always maintained excellent service. Just what he will do in the future he has not decided but will take a couple or three months for recreation free from business cares.
