EUREKA DAILY SENTINEL,

HIS MOTHER-IN-LAW.

I've a letter from thy mother,
Wife of mine,
And I read it with a shudder,
Wife of mine.

In her wild, malicious glee,
She is charging home to me,
With her Saratogas three,
Wife of mine.

I'm so sad that I could weep,
Wife of mine,
I'm so mad I cannot weep,
Wife of mine.

For she's coming home to stay,
She'll be here without delay;
She is eager for the fray.
Wife of mine.

How I dread to see her face,
Wife of mine,
In her old accustomed place,
Wife of mine.

She will hum like a buzz-saw.
As she lays me down the law;
She will never rest her jaw,
Wife of mine.

Oh! never, never, never,
Wife of mine.
