One Of Five In
State Competition
One of the biggest attractions at the big Mississippi State Fair this week in Jackson is a booth of the Holmes County 4-H Junior Council in the Agriculture Exhibit Building - for Holmes County folks, at least.
Theme of the Holmes booth is "Building Better Citizens Through Citizenship Clubs."

The boys and girls of the Junior Council won the right to compete for state prizes by virtue of their outstanding accomplishments in the Northwest District in which they earned first place. Twenty counties comprise this district and competition was stiff.
Mrs. Joy Frizell and Duane Tucker, directors of 4-H work in Holmes County, feel the local boys and girls have a chance to win in the state.
The actual work of planning and preparing the exhibition booth was done Saturday by
4-H JUNIOR COUNCIL EXHIBIT at the Mississippi State Fair in Jackson this week, pictured above, drew a lot of attention from thousands of visitors throughout the state.
