The First Legislature of the Virgin Islands will convene in St. Thomas at 2 o'clock this afternoon.
The eleven members making up the single law making body include:
John D. Merwin, Jorge Rodriguez, Joseph Gomez, Weymouth Rhymer, Mrs. Lucinda Millin & Walter Hodge, at large; Eric Carroll and Fritz Lawretz, representing the District of St. Croix; Percival Reese and Earle Ottley, from St. Thomas and Julius Sprauve from St. John.
The members will be sworn into office, and then will immediately begin to consider new rules of procedure. Election of officers will follow.
Governor Alexander will address the legislature in a meeting that will start at 8 o'clock tonight.
The session is for a period of 60 consecutive days.
