Full Text
"Of all the systems hitherto invented," says the writer, "this affords the greatest security to persons and property;" and the rapidity with which transportation is effected, is without a parallel. The cost of repairs is represented as trifling, and, as evidence of the public confidence, it is stated that the Manchester rail road stock, upon which £71 per share has been paid, is selling for £52, and the Stockton, on which £100 has been paid, is selling for £130.
Besides, the writer is confident, that, notwithstanding the degree of perfection to which the system has already arrived, when submitted to the exercise of American ingenuity, "new and important facilities will be invented, tending still more to "it.""
