Policeman Phair of the Twenty-second street station found a young man sitting on a doorstep at Sixteenth street and Irving place last night. The young man was moaning as if in great pain. He said that he was William Harrison, 18 years old, and had just come from his home in Rochester in search of work. He was walking in Irving place he said, when a man came up to him and asked him where he was going. He answered that he was trying to find a place to sleep. The man said he would find him a place, and asked him if he had any money. Harrison said that he had $2, and showed it. As he did so the man kicked him, snatched the money, and ran away. Harrison was sent to Bellevue Hospital where it was found that he was suffering from a severe rupture caused by the kick.
