LET 'EM CLEAN UP THE OTHER SIDE, TOO
The Ku-Klux Klan in Alabama has accepted the resignation of Attorney General McCall. In view of some of the things McCall set forth in his letter of withdrawal, it is safe to say that the high-ups of klandom have accepted the resignation with sincere regret. For McCall's parting note was one of the most paralyzing broadsides ever poured into a sinking ship—Albany Herald.

And every lick was deserved. If the governor of Alabama will now come forward and do likewise—resign—the Alabama ship of hooded hoodlums will be rudderless—Dalton Citizen.

And let the Romanist leaders resign and get out of the state far enough away that they cannot direct further campaigns in Alabama to further the cause of Romanist politics. They're making lots of trouble under the cover—behind their masks. The comic sheet of southern politics to us in the way a Roman Catholic can make a reconditioned candidate for office—be it no more than that of a constable in a bailiwick where the justice is long resigned and gone—the way that Romanist can make him knuckle and twist and turn and promise and shake. Just include them—the Romanists, please. The row will be over then.
