Full Text
I have to complain of the partiality of the public prints, and to ask why so much noise is made because my friend, (the little member) denounced both the Insurgents and the Excise in one, and the same publication. I say this is not blowing hot and cold in the same breath as has been maliciously stated, but it was a fair and masterly electioneering stroke, to keep in with all parties:—
Then why this harping always on the same string, while no public notice is taken of the strange appeal from Congress, to the state Assembly, signed by the Speaker of Congress, who is also a candidate, and therefore as fair game as the other gentleman.
