Inauguration.—The second inauguration of President Grant took place Tuesday. The national capital was crowded with visitors from abroad, and notwithstanding the fact that the weather was extremely cold, the streets were thronged with many thousands of people, eager to witness the procession and the ceremonies of the day.

Many of the Eastern States were represented by military and civic societies. After the oath of office was administered, the President delivered his inaugural address, in the presence of a large throng of spectators, very few of whom were able to hear any portion of it.
