Letter to Man 10 Yards Away Travels 4,000 Miles

(INS)--In this age of speed, a letter sent by S. L. Ashlock, Washington State college professor, to Fred G. Rounds, building superintendent, whose office was 100 yards away-traveled a distance of more than 4,000 miles and was received by the sender ten days later.

The note was addressed "Administration Bldg." meaning Room 111, Administrative building. But campus postal clerks read the address "Administration, Ill." The letter was returned ten days later marked "no such post office, Chicago, Ill."
