Such are the sentiments of sensible, judicious and disinterested persons on the other side the water.

NEW YORK. March 18.

Captain Stewart, from the Straits, informs us. That in the month of Dec. last, no less than 12 Dutch Frigates, of 26 guns each, arrived at Gibraltar, Lisbon, and Cadiz, in order to protect the trade of the States General in that part of the world, against the Barbary Corsairs; who have of late been very troublesome to the Dutch, by taking several of their merchant ships, and making slaves of their people.
