"Dancing Daddy" Convicted For Too Many Wives

LOS ANGELES. (AP)-Gerald J. O'Neill, the "dancing daddy" who was charged with neglecting to divorce his wives, was awaiting sentence today on three counts of bigamy.

The 51-year-old movie extra and standin, who removed his toupee for his trial, was convicted by Superior Judge Edward R. Brand yesterday on testimony of brides who said O'Neill carried on his romancing on dance hall floors.

The state alleged O'Neill was a "dancing daddy" to eight women in all. He previously served a bigamy term.

O'Neill, who said he had "mystic charm" for women, blew a kiss to his latest lady friend as he was taken back to jail.
