"Injun Joe" Provost, as he likes to be called, is the ideal man for the job he has, Representative for the Boy Scouts of America, on the Navajo Reservation. Joe has been in Scouting for a long time and the rewards he helps the boys reap show his belief in Boy Scouting.
There are many members of the Navajo Tribe that are doing fine work for the BSA. Many adult leaders, who could be at home watching TV, or out bowling devote their spare time to Scouting work.
The new Camp, named Asaa-yi meaning "in a bowl", because of its topographical location in a natural bowl has to be seen to be appreciated. When the site and buildings are all finished it will be one of the finest Boy Scout Camps in the nation.
We believe firmly in Scouting, and also its future for the Navajo Tribe. If you can't help Scouting physically or monetarily, we invite you to visit the new Boy Scout Camp on the 5th or 6th of next month. Talk to the boys and their leaders. See the interest shown in Scouting by these men and boys. See the new camp, and also stay for the activities. We know you will find them enjoyable and interesting.
We salute the Boy Scouts of Navajoland and their leaders, and wish them all the success in the world in future endeavors.
