Mr. Clay.--We learn from the Kentucky Reporter that a barbecue was given to Henry Clay by the citizens of Woodford County, Ken. on the 20th ult. at the Lafayette Grove. Charles Railey, Esq. acted as President, and Willis Fields, Esq. as Vice President. The Reporter remarks--The spirit of harmony which prevailed on the occasion, and the manifestations of friendly and affectionate regard for their distinguished fellow citizen, were most conspicuously displayed by the company. Every individual present seemed to be alike impressed with a grateful sense of his long and faithful services. It appears that Mr. Clay has been invited to public dinners in the counties of Scott, Franklin and Clark, but has declined to accept these testimonies of the esteem of his fellow citizens, in consequence of the state of his health, engagements in private business, and a desire to return with as little delay as possible to the discharge of his official duties at Washington City.--Bos. Patriot.
