ST. LOUIS, OCT. [SE].

Letters just received from Upper Missouri, represent the country in the neighborhood of the river Platte as very insecure for the residence of the traders, in consequence of a fierce and bloody war having broke out between the Ottos and Sioux. The contending parties had an action in the neighborhood of the trading houses, in which the Sioux left twenty one of their dead on the field. The traders apprehend a visit from the Sioux of the river St. Peters, who are in the British interest.
