ORDER OF THE DAY.
The General in Chief decrees
1. That the merchant vessels which enter the Port of Leghorn shall only be subject to the visit of the health officer: they may enter and go out without impediment from the military authority, but conforming themselves to the formalities required in regard to the Commissary of the French republic.
2. The command of the Port of Leghorn is consigned to the authority of the governor of her majesty the reigning Queen. Yet the governor shall be obliged to give every day an account of what passes in the Port to the commanding general, and to put strictly into execution the existing and future orders respecting the prohibition of exporting ammunition and other articles deemed proper for victualling the enemy.
3. All orders contrary to these dispositions are revoked.
