CITY MAY GET THIEF CATCHERS

A brace of bloodhounds will soon be added to the working force of the police department, if the efforts of the council and Chief of Police Duley come to anything.

The council recently authorized the chief to look about for available hounds, and he spent three days last week in Walla Walla inspecting the state's hounds, and making inquiries for salable canines.

He returned to Tacoma yesterday and is now negotiating with Dr. M. B. Wheeler of Aberdeen, who is a famous bloodhound breeder. Dr. Wheeler will turn over a brace of his best English bloodhounds to the city for a reasonable figure, and the council will probably take action on the matter at its next meeting.
