Full Text
The office of Commissary General has fallen to Gen. Henry Storms, though Jonathan D. Stevenson was ahead on the two first ballots.
Our friend James Conner, who deserved most of his party, had over twenty promises and obtained seven votes! Put not your trust in princes.
The defeat of Mayor Morris for Attorney General and Stevenson for Commissary General shows the estimation in which the pipe-laying conspirators are held at Albany. The Regency Members of the Legislature deserve thanks for their consideration in not surrounding Gov. Seward with these, his wanton and atrocious defamers.
