Earl Roundtree, 21 years of age, was run over and killed by a train at Knobel, about six miles south of Corning. With his wife and child, he was standing on a side track waiting for a southbound train on which his mother was to arrive. He was struck by a train which was switching on the side track. The noise of the other trains prevented him from hearing the approaching train. His mother alighted from the incoming train just as he was run over, and the accident was witnessed by her, as well as by his wife and child.
