DETROIT, Feb. 18 - Return of control for collecting and distribution of strike funds for General Motors strikers following a change of policy by UAW-CIO locals was turned over to the Locals themselves, the Strike Strategy Committee of the International union, it was reported in the current issue of The Wage Earner.
The change was brought about, says the Catholic labor paper, by complaints about dispensing the fund.
George F. Addes, union secretary-treasurer, is reported by the Wage Earner to have said that the change was reluctantly made.
