NO SHEARS.
A Scarcity of Hedge Trimmers In The Market.

San Antonio is at present experiencing a famine in the supply of hedge shears, implements used for trimming hedges, and all the hardware stores are out of them and all have large orders which they are expecting daily to arrive.

In former years San Antonio was a poor market for these useful tools, but the rapid growth of the taste of our progressive citizens for pretty hedges about their residences has caused a heavier demand for shears than the merchants anticipated.

The city gardens demand a large number of these implements for the care of the many hedges about these beauty spots and one order of three dozen shears for the city parks department was filled by one firm recently.
