The Senior Editor of the Fayetteville Observer, writing from Saratoga to his paper, in speaking of the probability that the Douglas men are for Bell and Everett as their second choice, says:

"I heard from a well informed North Carolina friend whom I fell in with on my way here, that such is the case to a large extent among the Douglas party in our State. That party will form an Electoral Ticket at the Convention called by Mr. Dick on the 30th inst., and whether the friends of Douglas vote for it or for their second choice, Bell and Everett, the State will be sure for the latter."
