Full Text

THE FARMER'S JOURNAL.-The above is the name of an excellent agricultural paper published at Bath in this State, and edited by Dr. John F. Tompkins. The time has come when agriculture is to be regarded as a calling worthy of the attention of the most enlightened and educated men. The notion which formerly prevailed, that it should be regarded merely as a life of drudgery is fast dissipating. Science has been invoked in aid of agriculture, and the result is an improvement so great and rapid that the farmer who neglects to keep pace with it will, ere long, find himself in the back ground. Every farmer who wishes to keep up with the times should take an agricultural paper.
