On Saturday last a certain Willard was detected, at Beverly, in attempting to pass a state note of £200, which appeared to have been altered from a smaller denomination--- supposed to be £20. He was apprehended and carried before Justice Bachelder: and desiring to be admitted as evidence for the state, he discovered a number of his accomplices, viz. James Ford of Boston, Burr of Brookfield, one Corbett of Claremont,---- Kelly and a Parker Esq; of Nottingham. This last is said to be a Justice of the peace.
Of the above infamous gang, we have heard of none being yet taken but Willard. It is hoped, however that so good a look out will be observed, as that all of them may be speedily apprehended, and meet the just recompense of their villanies.
