"Bob" Church's Daughter Begins Political Career

BY ROSA BROWN BRACY

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - (SNS) - Miss Roberta Church daughter of the late R. R. Church, noted Republican leader arrived in Memphis Thursday probably destined to follow in her father's foot-steps.

Memphis born she is a product of the Memphis Public school system, a graduate of LeMoyne College, Oberlin and NorthWestern Universities. She is charming and possesses a culture and poise to be appreciated.

SEEK POLITICAL POST

Questioned on her ambition to become the Committee woman of the Republican party of Memphis and Shelby County she said, "I was motivated by a desire to make secure the principles for which my father fought and died. I have returned to Memphis my home, the greatest city in America to enter the political field that I may serve my people."

I intend to wage a vigorous and successful campaign as a candidate upon the Eisenhower Ticket. I regard the Eisenhower ticket upon which are Allan Redd, Hugh M. Boswarth, Mrs. Archabald McClure, as a most representative and influential one.

"I have been a strong supporter of General Eisenhower from the very inception of the Eisenhower movement and my father was among those who originally sponsored General Eisenhower. I now appeal to my Father's friends, his former associates and those who believe in his ideals to rally to my support."

As Miss Church made her statement and appeal for support her sincerity and her youth impressed me. I found myself asking God's guidance that she might be endowed with wisdom which comes only through contact and service.
