Last Saturday the fleet of Transports with the Troops which sailed from here last week passed by this Harbour in their way to Bedford, where they arrived that evening, and we hear they have destroyed upwards of 60 sail of vessels among which were a number of privateers, loaded with different kinds of merchandise.
At the same time Lord Howe with the fleet appeared off coming from the eastward, having been in pursuit of the French fleet, which has got into Narragansett Road. The St. Albans, Preston, and Centurion, came into this harbour.
The Rebels now fight about instead of attacking, they have a sufficiency to do that protect their own coasts, from those very Britons they have so despised. And they must e'er this be so convinced that it is in their power (without assistance of the puissant allies) to waste their most flourishing sea-ports, reduce them to the misery and wretchedness.
Sunday arrived His Majesty's Ship Nautilus in this morning. Failed the St. Albans Preston, and Centurion, also number of small vessels.
