From the South-Western Christian Advocate we learn that this Conference closed its session on the 21st ult., after a harmonious meeting of nine days. Twenty-four preachers were admitted on trial in the travelling connection, and two re-admitted. Six located, and six were transferred to other Conferences. The increase in the membership throughout the Conference district, was two thousand three hundred and ninety-six. Nearly $1,000 were contributed at the anniversary of the Missionary Society. "Bishop Andrew," says the Advocate, "presided, to the satisfaction of the members; and his sweetness of temper, and the able and disinterested manner in which he conducted the business of the Conference confirmed our former exalted opinion of his piety and abilities. His sermon on Sabbath was delivered in the open air, in front of the court-house, to listening thousands, and was received with much pleasure, and produced the most thrilling sensations."
