We forget just now which one of the London journals it is which wishes Uncle Sam to apologize forthwith for insulting the British flag, but it is ducats to doughnuts that Uncle Sam won't do it. For it appears that the dread insult consists in the fact that Admiral Benham offered the protection of the Star Spangled Banner to a British merchantman's boat in search of water. The boat could not get protection from its own British flag; then why should Mr. Bull's corns be so tender? If he is afraid of the loss of his prestige, why doesn't he use a little energy in taking care of his own merchantmen at Rio?
