GENTLEMEN :

If the Corporation have the power, I entreat them to pass an Ordinance to prevent our sight being offended by the passage of Slaves, bought up in Maryland, through our streets for the Southern and Western country. If they have not the power, I hope they will memorialize Congress on the subject. The day is not far distant, I hope, when Virginia and Maryland will pass similar statutes.
