Hardware Firm Will Supply Equipment for New Hotel.
The Bracy Bros. Hardware Company, it is announced, has secured the contract to furnish all the locks to be installed in the new Lafayette Hotel, which is now under construction at Sixth and Louisiana streets.
The securing of the contract by the Bracy Bros. adds another to the long list of public buildings for which that company has furnished the hardware equipment.
According to the contract, the locks that will be installed are to be of the late model Sargent design with several new features. Chief among the prominent characteristics of the locks is the fact that the door can not be opened from the outside when it has been locked from the inside. In case of an emergency, however, the office will keep a master key which will open any of the doors. The lock also informs the maid as to whether the room is vacant or occupied.
Glass knobs will be put on all the doors in connection with the locks and there will be a dull bronze finish to all the locks throughout the building.
All the closets, bath rooms and other rooms at the hotel will also be equipped with the special brand Sargent locks.
