PRESIDENTIAL INAUGURATION.
The inauguration of President will take place on Tuesday next, when Mr. Monroe will be sworn into office by the chief justice of the United States. The occasion, so interesting to the people of the Union, has drawn to the city of Washington great numbers of visitors; among whom are many distinguished officers of the present and late army. Of these there have arrived generals Brown, Miller, Scott, Swift, Porter and Swartwout; colonels Miller, Snelling, Wood, Gardner, Mullany, Butler, Morrison, Jones and Totten; majors Gratiot, Camp, Harrison, Hogan, Long, McCloskey and Reece; captains Phelps, Parish, Reed, Oliver, McRee and Darragh. There are also several navy officers in town, and many strangers and citizens from different parts of the Union. The Senate will sit as an executive body, after their adjournment as a branch of the legislature; and in a few days, we presume, the public will learn who are the persons that are to compose the cabinet of the new President.
