Extract of a letter from an American gentleman in London, dated March 10, 1785.
"Mr. Fox is re-elected for Westminster, after a long scrutiny at the instance of his opponent, Sir Cecil Wray. I have been witness to the illuminations on the occasion, and to the triumphant manner in which he went to Parliament House, his chariot drawn by men, with colours flying before him; gentlemen and ladies of his party, with laurels in their hats and caps, blue and orange cockades, ribbons, fox-tails, fox muffs, &c. &c. Fox forever! the cry."
