GOV. ROOSLVELT AND THE PRESIDENCY.

The decision of Gov. Roosevelt to devote all of his ability and time to being Governor of New York instead of dividing interest between his office and a campaign for the Presidency is creditable to him. That he made in good faith the statement that he will not approve any movement to launch a Presidential boom for himself there is no doubt.

The Governorship of a State with 12,000,000 inhabitants is a big job and one that requires all of one's best efforts and time.

The Presidency is a position that ought to go to the man who deserves it most and not to one who wins it through campaigning for it. The man who deserves it most is the one that is best doing his duty wherever he has been called to work. Gov. Roosevelt can earn a Presidential nomination better by making the very best possible Governor of New York than in any other way.

However, whatever may be Gov. Roosevelt's attitude in the premises, he cannot prevent people from considering him as the most available timber for the Presidency in 1932. Several people have earned Presidential nominations through services as Governor of New York and two New York Governors have become President within the last half century.

That Gov. Roosevelt is about to carry on the precedents of Grover Cleveland and Theodore Roosevelt there are many reasons to believe.
