CHAMBER OF DEPUTIES.

Sitting of Jan. 17.

M. BARBE MARBOIS, after a short preamble, read the following Project of Law:—

Louis, by the Grace of God, &c.

Art. 1. The 21st of January shall be, annually throughout the kingdom a day of general mourning.

2. There shall be, on that day, annually, a solemn service in all the churches of France.

3. In expiation of the crime of that unfortunate day, there shall be erected in the name and at the expense of the nation, a Monument, in such place as shall be appointed by us.

4. There shall also be erected a Monument, in the name and at the expense of the nation, to the memory of Louis 17th, of the Queen Marie Antoinette, and Madame Elizabeth.

5. There shall also be erected a Monument, in the name and at the expense of the nation, to the memory of the Duke d'Enghien.

The project was unanimously adopted.

The Chamber of Deputies will assemble to-morrow at 3, to sign individually, and by a full nominal, the address to the King, on the attempt of the 21st January.
