Mass Lottery Trial Sept. 9

A mass trial for 27 persons charged with lottery, a violation of federal revenue laws on gambling is scheduled for Sept. 9. in the United States District Court.

Four of the 31 persons originally indicted on lottery charges have been granted separate trials.

Government prosecutors, attorneys for the defendants, and Federal District Judge Boyd Sloan, who is slated to hear the case. met in a pre-trial conference Friday to smooth out some of the anticipated wrinkles in the mass trial
