(We hear from Middletown in this Province, that on Tuesday the 8th of May, a Boy of 7 Years old belonging to one Wentworth of that Place, being sent of an Errand about half a mile, was lost in the Woods; within two hours after they began to look for him, & continued the search for 7 Days, during which Time, very large Companies of Men ranged the Woods all round in quest of him to no purpose; at length the search was given over, as it was universally concluded the Child had been carried off and devoured by some wild Beast, but on Wednesday the 23d being 15 days after he had been missing, the Child's Uncle was going to a neighbouring Settlement to Mill, and hearing a cracking among the Bushes by the Side of the Path, he turned into the Woods, and there found the Child picking of Ivy Leaves--- He was quite weak and much spent, having been exposed to the Rain and Cold, which we had for several Days together the first Week of his Absence.) It is very surprising, that a Child of his Age should subsist all alone in the Woods for so long a Time, and in so much bad Weather, and should be so concealed as to evade such a diligent and continued Search as was made for him.
