Seizing the Idle Fields

JOHANNESBURG, Africa. Jan. 6 (U.P.)--It was reported from Lichtenburg tonight that West Transvaal diamond workers were planning to seize valuable diamond fields Monday.

The workers were reported dissatisfied with restrictions on production and planning to take possession of valuable claims belonging to the Lichtenburg Company. The claims were suspended recently in accordance with the diamond law.

Port Nolloth workers also were reported protesting the failure to open new fields.
