Full Text

We have accounts from Cadiz, via Baltimore, which are several days later. The war in that vicinity was acquiring new activity and greater interest. Another expedition had sailed, and returned; and a third, to be commanded by the Regent Blake, was in a state of forwardness. Some thousands of the garrison had joined Ballesteros in Andalusia. Marshal Soult had returned from Estremadura to the siege; and the bombardment of the town from the new howitzers a la Villarsan, had been renewed with great fury, but little effect.
