Saturday last our most gracious Sovereign King GEORGE the Third enter'd the 26th Year of his Age:
On which Occasion his Excellency's Troop of Horse Guards, commanded by the Honourable Brigadier-General ROYALL; the Regiment of Militia in this Town, commanded by Lieut. Colonel Jackson; the Company of Cadets, commanded by Colonel Jarvis: and the new Artillery Company, with two Field Pieces, commanded by Capt. David Mason, were all muster'd, and after having performed their several Exercises in the Training Field, marched into King-Street, and made a very handsome Appearance; three Volleys were fired by each of their respectively; and the Guns at Castle-William, and at the Batteries in this Town and Charlestown were also discharged. When the Regiment, &c. retired out of King-Street the marching Salute was paid by their Officers, as they pass'd the East-End of the Town-House, to his Excellency the Governor, who stood in the Balcony to receive that Compliment: The Regiment then drew up in a Line from the Court House to the Province-House, and the military Salute again paid by the Officers to his Excellency and his Majesty's Council, as they passed by in Procession. In the Afternoon his Excellency the Governor, the Members of his Majesty's Council, the Civil and Military Officers of the Town, and a Number of other Gentlemen met at Faneuil-Hall, where his Majesty's and other loyal Healths were drank, at each of which a Salute from the Cannon belonging to the New-Artillery Company, which were drawn near the Hall for that Purpose, were discharged, and the whole concluded before Evening with great Decency and good Order.
