All records for the present year in the matter of marriage licenses were broken Wednesday and Thursday of this week. In the two days eight licenses have been granted and one couple from north of Meridian was turned down because the signature to the permit, ostensibly signed by parents of the bride not yet 18, did not look genuine. Here is the list: A. J. Sharette, Boston, Mass., and Elsia Green, Lowell, Mass.; Edward H. Petrie and Hazel H. Harrington, both of this city; Bert G. Shirley, Nampa, and Ruth Steenson, Caldwell; John W. Clay, Chicago and Lillian Ewing, Emmett; Emil Johns, Watson, Ore., and Madie McFarren, Caldwell; Warren C. Green, Greenleaf, and Edith Akes, Custer, South Dakota.
