"An unfaithful church in danger of destruction," will be the sermon subject Sunday, from the text, Revelations 2:5.
Services were well attended Sunday, a day of fellowship. At the business session of the Fourth Quarterly Conference reports were taken by the presiding elder, Rev. A. R. Davis of Chicago, and all officers for the new conference year were confirmed. All officers were re-elected for another year.
Rev. Mhoon leaves for the Annual Conference opening in East St. Louis, Ill. Sept. 18-23. Under his leadership the church debt was paid off and membership increased. Rev. Mhoon hopes to be returned to Holsey, but that will be left to the conference and Bishop to reappoint him. If he should not return he states that he enjoyed the fellowship of working with members and friends while in the Twin Cities.
On Friday night Holsey will have as guests to share in the appreciation service the Rev. Lovell Johnson and members of St. Peter AME church. Music will be by St. Peter's choir with Rev. Johnson bringing the message. We invite the public to worship with us in this service.
