Keep Pesticides From the Reach Of Your Children
The natural curiosity of a small boy is a wonderful thing.
It leads him into many strange and wonderful places. It can also lead him into trouble says Miss Patricia A. Middleton, extension home management specialist at the University of Delaware.
Be especially careful with farm and garden pesticides she warns. Regardless of how carefully you hide them, or how high a shelf you put them, the "little boy" curiosity is bound to track them down. The only safe place is a locked cabinet or store room.
Make sure the lock is secured each time you leave. Chances are that little boy is toddling along behind you somewhere and that storeroom could be his next stop.
You may
It's happening almost every day.
Careless gardeners and farmers are leaving poisonous materials in easy reach of children, or throwing them in trash piles where little boys love to play.
Don't let it happen at your home. Treat those pesticide as the deadly killers they really are, Miss Middleton warns.
