Full Text

American System.—Mr James F. Murray, of Chillisquaque, Northumberland county, Pennsylvania, showed us a piece of drab cloth, dressed at the Chilisquaque Fulling Mills, by Henry Ribson, which is pronounced by judges to be superior to any they have ever seen manufactured in the small way, in this country. The wool was the product of Mr Murray's sheep, raised on his farm, half merino and spun in his house— to value the wool at fifty cents per pound, the cloth cost him one dollar per yard, three quarters wide—which no American ought to be ashamed to wear.
