Jail Breaker
Again Arrested

Juan Padilla, 31, of Calexico, who escaped from the county chain gang on April 27 last, was caught by deputy Sheriffs McClelland and Freeman late yesterday afternoon on a ranch east of Calexico.

Padilla had been convicted on a charge of burglary and was sentenced to pay a fine of $500 or work it out at the rate of $3 a day on the chain gang. He took advantage of the freedom offered members of the working staff of the jail to shorten his detention.

He was locked up at the county jail last night on a charge of jail breaking.
