THE RIGHT WAY TO VOTE.

However much the Democratic party may try to redeem itself in regards to its treatment to the colored man in Colorado, it is clear that it will not overcome the idea of its vast superiority to us which must cause to continue the strained relationship now existing.

It is in this particular that we invite the attention of our people to weigh well the fact that whatever our conditions may be we never can obtain a safe and important standing politically with our Democratic brethren. The position and recognition that we get from their administrations are not only very subordinate, but it is apparent that they serve as reminders of our inferiority to them.

They make use of a few colored citizens, who really deserve pity in their folly and blindness, to carrying out their program of deceit, and reward them with a few jobs in the most menial positions they have left over for what is termed their loyalty to them. Now the time has come when these struggling colored political orphans should tire of their folly, shake off their old garments of the unprofitable and the mistakable and open their eyes to the necessity of supporting the party that stood by them as a rock of defense and a tower of strength. This party—the Republican party—stands firm for the policy of adjusting all matters that will ameliorate existing conditions so as to bring about amicable relationship between Americans of different shades, and this being our only hope, we ought to feel a safe investment in supporting the Republican ticket in this election. This paper supports absolutely the candidates on the Republican ticket and feel that the solid colored vote should be given them.

Vote the Republican ticket as a political proposition and as a real business-like concern, so that the conditions which were favorable to us under their administration may return, and the entrusting of our political welfare in their hands will serve to re-establish the position of the colored voter as an important factor and a very valuable ally to the party who gave him birth.
