BOSTON, June 3.
Massachusetts Legislature.
June 1.
The resolutions of Mr. Wheaton being the order of the day, were taken up. They were supported by Messrs. Wheaton, Baylie, Adams, Thatcher, Sargent, Whitman, Bates and Gore, and opposed by Messrs. Bangs, Weston, Ripley, Martin and Morton. The house adjourned without a decision.
In no debate before in our house of representatives has more information and rationality been displayed, or more auditors been collected.
June 3.
The consideration of Mr. Wheaton's resolutions was resumed. Mr. Story spoke against them, and Mr. Bradbury in their favor. At one o'clock the question was taken by yeas and nays, and decided in the affirmative; yeas 246, nays 219; majority for the resolutions 27.
Council.
At 4 o'clock the house proceeded to the election of one councillor more, vice the gentlemen chosen on Tuesday who declined serving. The following gentlemen had the number of votes given to their names, and were elected:
Hon. David Cobb - 276
George Cabot, 275
John C. Gray, 276
Ephraim Spooner, 276
Thomas Dwight, 276
Artemas Ward, 276
Benjamin Pickman, jun. 274
Prudens Mellen, 276
Oliver Fitch, 275
The democratic list consisted of the councillors of last year; who had 224 votes each.
Senate.
At 5 o'clock, the house proceeded to the election of a national senator, as Mr. Adams's term of service expires with the 3d of March next;
