COMMERCIAL CLUB MEETS
Elect Officers and Plan for Patriotism
Day to be Celebrated at Monett,
April 5.
Monett will celebrate Patriotism
Day of April 5. The initial steps were
taken, Thursday night, by the Commercial
club at their meeting. The
committee on the celebration program
are Mayor W. J. Fleming; Ed Salzer,
the new president of the Commercial
club and Chas. Mansfield, the vice
president of the club.
It is the plan to ask that every business
building and residence display
the stars and stripes on that day. At
night a big celebration with appropriate
speeches and music will be
held at the Deer Hall. The committee
will make their announcements as
soon as their plans are completed.
The Club at this meeting elected officers
as follows: president, Ed Salzer;
vice president, Charles Mansfield
and secretary, J.L. Hobbs.
