DEVON CATTLE TO BE TESTED AT EVERGLADES EXPERIMENT STATION

Belle Glade. Dec. 8.-A herd of 18 Devon cattle has just been received at the Everglades Experiment Station here. The cattle were sent by the federal government and will be used jointly with the station to test their adaptability to different conditions in this section.

The cattle were bred by two cattlemen in Maryland and one in Mississippi, and are foundation stock that anyone can well be proud of, stated W. J. Neal, secretary of the Devon Cattle Club.

Accurate records of their beef production as well as the quality of beef, the milk records. and the percentage of butterfat will be kept, according to Dr. A. L Shealy, head of the Animal Husbandry Department of the main station at Gainesville.
