Junior Class Cleverly Present 3-Act Comedy

"Skidding" A Political Story, Has Many Interesting Amusing Situations

The Junior Class presented Skidding, a three act comedy, Thursday evening, December 11 in the High School Auditorium. The performance was well given and attended by a fine audience.

The plot of the play centers around a judicial election in a small town in Idaho. Judge Hardy, played by Clifford Domke, runs for District Judge. Marion Hardy, his daughter, a part well played by Jane Strebel, has just returned from college, and determines to help her father get the judicial nomination. Mr. Stubbins, Hardy's political manager, is amazed by her public speeches for her father, and persuades her to run for the Legislature. She does in spite of the objections raised by her fiance, Wayne Trenton, played by Arthur Vogel, and the engagement is broken.

Andy, the part which Harry Hamilton played, is Marion's 16 year-old brother who is just at the age when he slicks his hair down and begins to notice girls. This part was well played and added a humorous touch to the play.

Election day arrives, and the Hardy household is in a flurry of excitement. Judge Hardy is nominated to the Supreme Court on the third ballot. Marion also meets with success and is elected for the legislature.

The play ends perfectly as all good plays do, with the reconciliation of Marion and Wayne.

Each part in this clever and interesting play was acted very well. The cast was as follows:

Aunt Milly Mary Austin

Judge Hardy Clifford Domke

Mrs. Hardy Valerie Rose

Stubbins Clarence Nathe

Andy Harry Hamilton

Marion Hardy Jane Strebel

Wayne Trenton Arthur Vogel

Grandpa John Peshek

Estella Olivia Vennewitz

Myra Margaret Kenna

Contributed.
