Great Educational Feature Planned at the Corn and Alfalfa Exposition at Benson.

As a special educational feature at the Corn and Alfalfa Exposition at Benson, Nov. 26-27-28, all the blue ribbon samples of corn and alfalfa are to be assembled and displayed on a huge pedestal or pyramid erected in the gigantic tent which is to house the exhibits. The pedestal will be twenty feet square at the base and about nine feet high.

Each of the four sides of the pyramid will be reserved for the first prize exhibits of four counties, each county being given equal space. On the sloping panel allotted to each county will be eight shelves one foot apart. On the top shelf the four best single ears -yellow dent, white dent, white cap yellow dent, and red dent-in the four lots will be placed. On the second and third shelves the best four ten-ear samples of corn from the four lots in that class will be placed. On the next four shelves will be put the blue ribbon thirty-ear samples from the four lots in that class. On the last shelf will be shown the best thirty-ear sample in the boys' class. Below the last shelf will be the four first prize 120-ear samples in bushel baskets.

Exhibitor Will Profit.

This plan of exhibiting to the public all of the blue ribbon exhibits from each county will be of great value to the exhibitor. Attached to each exhibit will be the name and address of the owner. This will enable the successful exhibitors from each county to obtain some efficient publicity, and aid them in securing a market for seed corn at home. Many good corn breeders hesitate about exhibiting at the large corn shows, because no efficient method of informing the public about the awards has been devised. The worth of this new plan is evident.

The new plan of exhibiting the best ears of corn at the show will assist in impressing upon the mind of the public the correct types of the leading varieties. After a careful examination of the blue ribbon samples there will be no difficulty encountered by any corn grower in picking out a good ear of corn. Not only that, but such an exhibit will illustrate in an effective way the wonderful hold which the corn industry is getting upon West Central Minnesota.
